Final Info for 6-10-23

Swim Families,

Tomorrow we have our first summer meet of the season! I have tried to provide all of the important info below. Please take the time to read through this email and let me know what questions you still have.

1. Entries are in - please check the list and let Coach Lewis know if you have any questions. If for any reason a swimmer who is listed cannot attend, please let Coach Lewis know as soon as possible so I can attempt to fix relays. I did swim up several athletes to give everyone at least one relay opportunity.

Entries 6/10 - Also, I boxed in the first swimmer listed as an example. Entries show in two columns under the swimmer name, please make sure you find all of your events (up to 5 total).

2. Meet Details

  • Saturday, June 10th at Hoffman Pool
  • Arrive by 7:45 AM. There will be both a list of athletes and a list of workers hanging on the shed at the back of the pool - please checkmark your name (swimmers & workers) as you arrive so we can quickly make sure everyone is here
  • Warm up is at 8 AM, Worker meeting at 8:15 AM at the computer table, Races starting at 8:30 AM, timeline shows us finishing around noon.
  • Heat Sheet
  • After warm ups, events will be called to the bullpen by number. It is very important that parents, older swimmers, etc. help our swimmers get to the bullpen when their number is called. Once a swimmer arrives in the bullpen, helpers will line the swimmers up so they are ready to race!
  • Remember to bring googles, caps (we will have team caps available), towels, healthy snacks, warm clothes, and activities to pass the time. Between events swimmers can socialize, relax, cheer on teammates, and so on, as long as they continue to listen for their next event.
  • Swimmers & families may leave when they are finished but please double check relay entries so you do not leave a relay hanging. If your family needs to leave before a swimmer is finished please find a coach and let them know so we can try to fix relays.
  • HAVE FUN! Summer swim is an opportunity to learn the sport. It should be fun. We will have swimmers mess up, get disqualified, accidentally miss an event, or swim slower than they hoped but we will always find the positive and we hope parents do the same. We honestly love watching them swim.

3. New families - Please don't hesitate to ask questions - that is what summer swim is all about! First Swim Meet - What to Expect Video

4. Finally, we need at least one more official. If you have knowledge of the four strokes please consider helping out. Here is a copy of the DQ slip used for our summer league.

This is a ton of information to digest. Please feel free to contact Coach Lewis with any questions you have! I'm so excited to see our swimmers compete!
